If the words below feel new, read this first. National Housing Bank is a government-owned financial institution. It does not take savings accounts from the public the way SBI does. It works with housing finance companies and banks. Scale III and Scale V are bank officer grades. Deputation means an officer already in a public sector bank is lent to NHB for a period. A contract post ends when the contract ends.

What National Housing Bank actually does

NHB regulates and refinances housing finance. This advertisement fills officer seats at the Bank: two on deputation from public sector banks, four on regular recruitment, and one company secretary on contract. The PDF says selected people can be posted or transferred anywhere in India at the Bank’s discretion. Only people willing to serve anywhere in India should apply.

What kind of role this is

Regular posts have one-year probation, which the Bank can extend. Deputation tenure is three years, subject to annual review, with possible absorption only if the Bank decides. The company secretary contract is three years. Either side can end it with one month’s notice. Contract pay is ₹3.50 lakh a month, with housing and conveyance as per entitlement. That figure is not in-hand after tax.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if your degree, age and post-qualification experience match one named post as on 1 September 2026, and you can move. Experience through outsourcing vendors, BPO or KPO is not counted.

Skip if you are a fresher, your MBA is not in the named specialisation, or you want a campus-style trainee seat. Deputation seats are only for officers already in the named public sector bank ranks. OBC creamy layer must apply as UR. Category cannot be changed after registration.
