Job Title : Assistant Manager / Manager - Telecom


Role Summary :


The role is responsible for enterprise telecom capacity planning, demand forecasting, circuit commissioning, provider governance, and telecom optimization.


The incumbent will ensure adequate network capacity, resilient connectivity, optimized telecom costs, and seamless delivery of telecom services supporting business operations across WAN, Internet, MPLS, SD-WAN, and voice infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities :


- Capacity Planning & Demand Forecasting :


i. Conduct periodic capacity assessments across WAN.


ii. Forecast bandwidth demand based on business growth.


iii. Recommend capacity augmentation or optimization.


- Performance Monitoring & Threshold Management :


i. Publish & review capacity dashboards, identify congestion risk.


ii. Coordinate preventive actions with Network Operations teams.


- New Business & Site Onboarding :


i. Lead telecom readiness and circuit commissioning for new business initiatives, office expansions, and new site setups.


ii. Ensure timely delivery aligned with project milestones and business timelines.


- Resiliency, Redundancy & SPOF Elimination :


i. Identify and eliminate single points of failure across links, providers, PoPs, and last-mile connectivity.


ii. Recommend redundancy and failover improvements.


- Telecom Optimization & Cost Management :


i. Drive bandwidth right-sizing, circuit rationalization, billing validation, and contract compliance reviews.


ii. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance or availability.


- ISP / Provider Governance & SLA Management :


i. Govern telecom providers through SLA, KPI, and performance reviews.


ii. Manage escalations, chronic issues, and corrective actions; ensure providers meet contractual and service obligations.


- Compliance, Risk & Audit Readiness :


i. Support audits and risk assessments by providing documentation, evidence, and reports.


ii. Address audit findings through corrective and preventive actions.


- Documentation, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication :


i. Maintain telecom inventory, circuit diagrams, provider details, and SOPs.


ii. Publish reports on capacity, performance, incidents, optimization initiatives, and risk indicators while working with Network Operations teams.


Required Qualifications & Experience :


- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.


- Experience : 6-13 years of experience in enterprise network, telecom capacity planning, operations, Capacity planning, Provider governance, or telecom service delivery.


- ITIL Foundation certification preferred; CCNA or equivalent networking certification preferred.


Required Skills :


- Customer-centric approach and ability to work in a fast-paced global enterprise environment.


- Understanding of Enterprise WAN architecture, MPLS, Internet services, SD-WAN, and voice connectivity.


- Telecom capacity planning, demand forecasting, and bandwidth utilization analysis.


- ISP/carrier management, circuit lifecycle management, and SLA/KPI governance.


- Network monitoring, reporting, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.


- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and vendor governance & negotiation skills.
