DSSSB Delhi District Courts Recruitment 2026: 641 PA, SPA, JJA, Process Server and Peon Posts

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has published Advertisement No. 04/2026 for 641 posts in the Delhi District and Sessions Courts and the Family Courts. The posts are Senior Personal Assistant, Personal Assistant, Junior Judicial Assistant, Process Server and Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon. Online applications are open from 6 October to 4 November 2026 on dsssbonline.nic.in. The age limit is 18 to 27 years as on 1 June 2026.

Note the two different dates. Age is checked on 1 June 2026, but your degree, shorthand or typing qualification and driving experience only need to be complete by 4 November 2026.

PwBD posts (54 in all) and ex-servicemen posts (41) are included in these numbers, not added to them. The Board calls the vacancies tentative, based on what the courts have reported.

Eligibility and qualification

  • Senior Personal Assistant: graduate, with shorthand at not less than 110 words per minute and typewriting at 40 words per minute.
  • Personal Assistant: graduate, with shorthand at 100 words per minute, typing at 40 words per minute and knowledge of computers.
  • Junior Judicial Assistant: graduate, with typing speed of not less than 40 words per minute on a computer.
  • Process Server: matriculation or equivalent, or Higher Secondary, with a driving licence for light motor vehicles (LMV) and 2 years of unblemished driving experience.
  • Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon: matriculation or equivalent from a recognised board.

No experience is required for any post except the driving experience for Process Server. Candidates must be citizens of India.

Age limit and relaxation

For every post you must be at least 18 and under 27 years on 1 June 2026. In other words, you must have been born between 2 June 1999 and 1 June 2008. The date of birth in your 10th certificate is the only one accepted.

Application fee

The fee is Rs 100, paid only through SBI e-pay and not refunded. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates pay nothing. Ex-servicemen who already hold a regular civil job under the Central Government or the Delhi Government after using ex-servicemen reservation do not get the exemption.

Selection process and exam pattern

DSSSB conducts the MCQ, descriptive and shorthand or typing tests. The Delhi District Courts conduct the driving test and the interview and prepare the final merit list. In the MCQ and descriptive tiers, UR and EWS candidates need 50% to qualify, and OBC (Delhi), SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen need 45%. Each MCQ carries 1 mark, with 0.25 marks deducted for a wrong answer.

Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant

Tier Details Tier I, MCQ (90 marks, 90 minutes, English only) General English and Comprehension 50, General Knowledge 20, General Intelligence 20. Up to 25 times the vacancies go to Tier II. Tier II, Descriptive English (75 marks, 90 minutes) Essay of 250 words (30), Grammar (25), Translation of 20 words (20). Up to 10 times the vacancies go to the skill test. Tier III, Skill test (qualifying) SPA: 550 words dictated in 5 minutes, 40 minutes to transcribe on computer, up to 22 mistakes (4%). PA: 500 words in 5 minutes, 40 minutes, up to 20 mistakes. Two attempts; the better one counts. Tier IV, Interview (10 marks) No minimum marks. Final merit is Tier II plus Tier IV.

Junior Judicial Assistant

Tier Details Tier I, MCQ (120 marks, 120 minutes, English only) General English and Comprehension 60, General Knowledge 30, General Intelligence 30. Tier II, Descriptive English (100 marks, 120 minutes) Essay of 300 words (50), Grammar (30), Translation of 25 words (20). Tier III, Typing test (qualifying) 40 words per minute in English. Tier IV, Interview (15 marks) No minimum marks. The merit list adds the descriptive test and interview marks.

Process Server

Tier I is a 100 mark MCQ in 120 minutes (160 minutes for PwD candidates): English 25, Hindi 25, General Knowledge 25 and Arithmetic 25, in both English and Hindi. Up to 15 times the vacancies are called for Tier II, a qualifying driving test in real traffic. Tier III is a 15 mark interview by the Principal District and Sessions Judge (HQs). Final selection is on Tier I plus the interview.

Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon

Tier I is the same 100 mark MCQ (English, Hindi, General Knowledge and Arithmetic, 25 each, 120 minutes). Up to 10 times the vacancies are called for a 15 mark interview conducted by the Delhi District Courts.

PwBD and ex-servicemen reservation

  • Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant are open to PwBD category (c) only (locomotor disabilities such as one leg or both legs, leprosy cured, dwarfism and acid attack victims). Categories (a), (b), (d) and (e) are not suitable for these posts.
  • Junior Judicial Assistant, Process Server and Peon are open to categories (a) blindness and low vision, (b) deaf and hard of hearing, and (c), and also to (d) and (e) as the advertisement lists for each post.
  • Ex-servicemen posts: 15 in Junior Judicial Assistant (District Courts) and 2 in Family Courts, 10 in Process Server and 14 in Peon.

How to apply

  1. Register once on dsssbonline.nic.in if you have not used DSSSB before. Do not create a second registration; multiple registrations lead to cancellation and debarment.
  2. Log in with your user ID and password between 6 October (12 noon) and 4 November 2026 (11 PM).
  3. Choose the post code and fill the form. One registration is enough for every DSSSB exam.
  4. Pay Rs 100 through SBI e-pay if your category pays a fee.
  5. Submit and keep a copy. Applications by post, by hand or by email are not accepted.

Documents to keep ready

  • 10th certificate (date of birth proof).
  • Graduation degree and marksheets for SPA, PA and JJA.
  • Shorthand and typing certificates where held, though the speed itself is tested in the skill test.
  • LMV driving licence and proof of 2 years of driving experience for Process Server.
  • Category, PwBD or ex-servicemen certificates if you claim reservation or relaxation.

Points to check before you apply

  • The upper age is 27 for every post, including Peon. There is no relaxation for government employees.
  • Personal Assistant is the largest group: 189 posts in the District Courts and 17 in the Family Courts.
  • The PA and SPA final merit counts only Tier II and the interview. Tier I is for shortlisting and the skill test is qualifying.
  • Process Server needs an LMV licence held long enough to show 2 years of driving by 4 November 2026.
  • Negative marking is 0.25 for each wrong MCQ.
